About Us

The South King Tool Library (SKTL) provides equal access to tools and training in order to help maintain neighborhoods, build community and reduce unnecessary consumption. SKTL operates much like a traditional library, allowing borrowers to check out tools and equipment to care for their homes, yards, gardens and more. We provide instruction on proper tool use, host repair cafes to help you fix things and work together to build better lives in South King & North Pierce Counties.

What We Do
SKTL is a volunteer-run organization. We opened our doors in June 2020, providing drive-thru pickups and donation options. We have a wide variety of volunteer opportunities: from organizing tools, to helping with tool check-ins and check-outs, website maintenance, social media, suit makers, fixers, creatives, data heads, environmental advocates, community organizers and folks who just like pitching in when they can. Your volunteer work can earn you a free membership!
