About Us

South King Fire and Rescue is also known as Fire Protection District 39. We provide emergency services to the Cities of Federal Way, and Des Moines, while covering parts of Un-Incorporated King County. We proudly serve over 160,000 community members and the thousands of visitors to our local region. South King Fire and Rescue responds to over 24,000 calls a year and those range from medical, fire, water, confined space, trench rescue, rope rescue, hazardous materials, and many more. Our dedicated staff of 160 plus firefighters take great pride and dedication in learning every aspect of their profession so that we can respond swiftly to mitigate any emergency facing our community.
