The Chamber's new  Women in Business series is a quarterly leadership program designed to support the advancement of women across every industry in South King County. The series is designed for practical business education, strategic networking, and leadership development.

Women in Business kicks off with a practical "how to" session for developing your personal brand with Bridget O'Connor, Community Engagement Officer, Red Canoe Credit Union.

About the Speaker

Bridget O’Connor is the Community Engagement Officer for Red Canoe Credit Union.  She your Financial Empowerment Advocate and Credit Union Champion At Large serving South King County to empower ALL people to financially thrive. Whether working with elementary school students or retirees, Bridget brings the message "Banking is for everyone" by debunking myths, stereotypes and stigmas centering around money beliefs and encouraging open communication.  She works hard to find ways to bring access to capital to the community at large - especially the underserved/underbanked.

Prior to moving to Washington State, Bridget was an Online Advertising Account Executive for Dow Jones' The Wall Street Journal in San Francisco, California.  Her clients included Sun Microsystems, Oracle and PeopleSoft. In November 2001 she moved her family to Federal Way to pursue suburban bliss among other things.

Bridget is an avid Chamber Member and Advocate, a member of the Federal Way Public Schools CTE General Advisory board, the Kent School District CTE/Business Advisory Committees and General Advisory and the Business Advisory Committee member for Green River College. She has previously served as board chair for The Covington Chamber of Commerce, Communities In Schools Puyallup and Advancing Leadership Federal Way.  She is also an accredited Credit Union Business Development Professional through America's Credit Union association.

In her spare time, this native (Brooklyn) New Yorker enjoys bragging rights for running the 2013 NYC marathon, redefining the word “mother”, writing the great American novel and stopping to pet every dog she meets.
