Description
How can Federal Way capitalize the opportunities in our food scene, environmental technology, and the creative arts?
The Greater Federal Way Chamber welcomes Nick Smoot, Executive Director, Innovation Collective, for a presentation of findings from their Innovation Economy and Placemaking Report, at a special business luncheon, at Staybridge Suites & Holiday Inn Express.
A strong innovation economy is a narrative that acts as an engine for sustainable business growth, driving creativity, encouraging entrepreneurship, and embracing cutting-edge technologies. Placemaking is integral to this vision of economic transformation.
Smoot will share the results of focus groups and their analysis of the area, identifying start-up and high-growth industry sectors, as well as optimizing space utilization. Read the Report.
Nick Smoot is a community and startup ecosystem builder. His 18 years of experience range from nonprofit work, co-founding three mobile tech startups, running two venture investment groups, coauthoring and advising on federal entrepreneurship legislation including the National Innovation and Modern Skills Training Act (co-author) and the Chips and Science Act (advising), developing community startup economy frameworks, and co-developing 290,000 sq ft of Innovation Campuses.
