The Federal Way Sylvan is excited to offer a new Robotics course using LEGO® as part of our STEM program series!
What is Sylvan Robotics?
· A fun, hands-on, educational science, engineering and programming class that uses LEGO® Education each and every meeting Students will learn to build and program robots using LEGO® Education’s award-winning WeDo™ robotics and programming software
· Robotics students will follow step-by-step on-screen instructions to build robots using LEGO® and create programs to get their robots moving
· With each class skill level increases as students build more complicated programs involving pulleys, gears, motion and/or tilt sensors
· Students experiment, compete and have fun with their robots, challenging other teams with games and competitions
· There are no more than 12 students in a class with a 6:1 student teacher ratio
· No experience necessary! Designed for students in 2nd through 4th grade
· Parents will receive weekly emails on projects students complete and skills taught with extension activities
The video shows one of the projects students will complete, The Hungry Alligator! Our Robotics Camp will run this summer from June 30-July 3 (M-Th) from 1:00-3:00pm or from July 21-July 24 from 1:00-3:00pm at the Federal Way Sylvan.
